Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. As a child she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma decided to be an actor by the age of six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing dance, acting and singing. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Agents for casting found Emma through her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after 8 auditions. They were chosen to play the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film beat all previous records on the opening weekend and revenues, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film and the performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a well-read British newspaper, was awed by her for her exceptional performance. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her exceptional performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of an Film.
